Marco Algorta
Advisor
Marco Algorta was a trailblazer in the development of medicinal cannabis in Latin America, securing the first public funds for the sector, obtaining the first license for the production and export of THC-based medicinal cannabis and serving as the inaugural president of the Chamber of Companies in Uruguay, the first country to regulate cannabis. With over 20 years of professional experience in controlled substances, Marco expanded his efforts into the psychedelic sector three years ago, founding Beneva Clinics. These clinics specialize in providing mental health treatments within a medical setting using psychedelics.Though Marco’s initial approach to psychedelics was scientific, his experiences have shifted towards a deeper spiritual understanding. He believes that beyond mental health challenges the core issue in Western society is a profound spiritual disconnection. As a psychedelic father in a conservative society he often faces misconceptions from his peers about incorporating sacred plants into daily life. Marco joined the Psychedelic Parenthood Community as Advisor to share knowledge, collaborate on family-inclusive best practices for the responsible use of psychedelics and create a support network that can also serve as a catalyst for broader societal understanding.
